Catherine Chiles, M.D., HS ’86, FW ’87, associate professor of psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, was elevated to the status of Fellow at this year’s annual meeting of the American College of Psychiatrists. Fellowship is an honor bestowed upon members who have demonstrated national leadership and who have made sustained and substantial contributions to the organization and in the field. Chiles is the director of the Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service at the West Haven campus of the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. She trains Yale medical students, residents, and fellows in the art of practicing psychiatry in coordination with other medical and surgical services. Chiles is the recipient of numerous awards for educators. She is a two-time recipient of the Leah Lowenstein Award for Humane and Egalitarian Education from the Yale Office for Women in Medicine, and a four-time recipient of the Yale Psychiatry Residents Association Teaching Award.
