David S. Fischer, M.D., clinical professor of medicine (oncology), received the Richard Blumenthal Patient Advocate for Life Award from the Connecticut Hospice during its Legacy Ceremony on September 23. Fischer helped to found Connecticut Hospice, the first hospice in the country, in 1974.
