Dick Swett said, “If I could have had anything I wanted, the thing I would most have liked would have been to practice medicine with this group.”
Virginia Williams said, “Isn’t it amazing how the years melt away when we meet!”
That was the mood of the evening, as it always is when we get together.

Our cocktail hour was graced by a visit from Dean Alpern. Steve Miller reported that our class was particularly generous this reunion year. We don’t know whether there was a connection between those two things or not, but we think Dean Alpern is the first dean ever to drop in on us at dinner and the gesture was a gracious one.
Dinner at Union League Cafe was delicious, from appetizer to dessert. Our thanks to Jean Pierre Vuillermet, the chef-owner, and to his colleague Jean Michel and to the staff of waiters and cooks.
There is an abiding feeling among us—we read it as friendship, respect and collegiality in more or less equal parts. It is grounded in the Yale system and it flourishes in each of us. It is that feeling that prompted Dick and Virginia to make their comments. It is that feeling that keeps us in touch with each other and that makes us look forward to our next meeting.
