Roy S. Herbst, M.D., Ph.D., Ensign Professor of Medicine (medical oncology), professor of pharmacology, and chief of medical oncology at Yale Cancer Center, has received the 2014 Addario Lectureship Award from the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF) for his continued leadership and expertise in lung cancer treatment and research. Herbst received the award at the 15th International Lung Cancer Congress in Huntington Beach, Calif.

Each year the ALCF recognizes one special leader who is making great strides to eradicate lung cancer and fight for the lives affected by this disease. Herbst is best known for his work in developmental therapeutics and the personalized therapy of non-small-cell lung cancer, in particular the process of linking genetic abnormalities of cancer cells to novel therapies.
